Distribution : Papua in primary forest and humid places, between 300 - 1000m above sea level.

Pseudobulbs to 80cm long, more flattened compare to Dendrobium macrophyllum, dark brown.

Leaves 2-3, positioned close together near the apex of stems, tough and leathery, acute, 25 x 14 cm.

Inflorescences several, emerging in succession from the stem apices,  to 40cm long and bearing up to 15 flowers.

Flowers 4 -6cm broad, sepal and petal yellow or green, sometime with many red spotted on the backside.
